Young cellist Petar Pejčić will hold a concert on 22 September at 8 p.m. in the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra Concert Hall as part of the 12th Cello Fest. He will perform together with pianist Natalija Mladenović, and the programme will include works by Kodály and Rachmaninoff.
Petar Pejčić was born in Belgrade into a family of musicians, and started playing the cello at the age of four. After his musical beginnings in Belgrade, he went to study in Germany at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdi Academy of Music and Theatre Leipzig (Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy”) with professor Peter Bruns. After receiving numerous awards and other recognitions at international competitions (ArtLink – Société Générale – Most Promising Young Musician for 2018), Petar Pejčić was this year the youngest finalist of one of the most prestigious international music competitions – the Queen Elizabeth Competition in Brussels.
