MANDO DIAO concert on 23 June as part of GARDEN SESSIONS concerts

The popular Swedish indie rock band MANDO DIAO is known for its classic rock and roll sound, and since 2002 they have released 11 studio albums, which have sold more millions of copies worldwide.

They began their career drawing heavy influences from rhythm and blues, as well as the music of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Kinks.

In their career, they have played more than 1,500 concerts in over 30 countries and have headlined major festivals around the world. Their videos have become viral phenomena with tens of millions of views on YouTube. They have released a B-side and a Greatest Hits collection, as well as an MTV Unplugged album and DVD.

All the band members play several instruments, are producers and songwriters.

They gained great popularity in this region after the release of the album ‘Give me Fire!’ in 2009 and the hits ‘Dance with Somebody’ and ‘Gloria’.

The band has always followed its artistic vision and interests, continually testing new territory, whether it was the folk music inspired Never Seen the Light of Day, the collaboration with hip-hop producers – the Salazar brothers that delivered Give me Fire, or the 100-year-old Swedish poems by Gustaf Fröding for Infruset and I solnedgången.

As they developed their own music, they took in more pop and dance themes, all the while maintaining the energetic attitude of early rock and roll, combined with Björn's unmistakable, soulful voice.

Their live shows are highly regarded by the audience, which are an explosion of energy and offer a diverse catalogue of hits as well as unexpected deep cuts and unique versions.

After a sold-out tour for the gold-selling album I solnedgången, the never predictable Mando Diao returned with hard hitting rock and roll for summer 2022. The three singles ‘Get it On’, ‘Frustration’ and ‘Fire in the Hall’ have been in the top 10 rock radio charts for 26 weeks, with ‘Get it On’ even peaking at number one.

Many contemporary bands have come and gone, yet Mando Diao has continued to reach new heights and redefine popular music. In 2023, they were inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame.
