On 7 November, in the packed Kolarac Hall, an impressive concert evening was held by the Maisky Trio, which consisted of the world-class cellist, Mischa Maisky, his son Sascha Maisky, a violinist, and his daughter Lili Maisky, a pianist.

The programme began with the performance of Sascha Maisky and Lili Maisky, who played Three Romances for Violin and Piano, Op. 22 by Clara Schumann, and Mischa Maisky joined them for Johannes Brahms' Piano Trio No. 1 in B Major for violin and cello. Romances and transcriptions for cello and piano by Sergei Rachmaninoff were performed by the Maisky Trio in the second part of the concert, which ended with the Piano Trio No. 2 in E Minor, Op. 67, by Dmitri Shostakovich. With undisguised delight, the audience rewarded the performers with long applause, leaving the impression that its expectations were met.

Mischa Maisky, who won many awards over the course of his brilliant artistic career, said before the concert that he felt at home wherever superb music was appreciated, and that he considered Belgrade to be one of those places.

The 20th Cello Fest began with the concert of the Maisky Trio and will last until 14 November. It will also include performances by ensembles of young cellists, cellist László Fenyő, as well as St George Strings with soloists Robert Lakatoš and Dragan Đorđević, with the premiere performance of Mozart's Sinfonia concertante for violin and cello.
