20 July 2023
Jevremovac’ Botanical Garden at 9.00 p.m.
Musician and writer Marko Šelić Marčelo with a band in full lineup performed on the first day of the Garden Sessions concert series in the Jevremovac Botanical Garden.
It was announced that on 20 July, Marčelo would mark two decades since the release of his first studio album ‘De Facto’, and that that concert was the beginning of his celebratory activities that would continue until the end of the year.
The repertoire of the concert in ‘Jevremovac’ included current tracks from the sixth studio album ‘Nojeva varka’.
‘A one-time of joining forces with the desire that existing songs merge with jazz turned into a camaraderie and permanent collective, which then resulted in the conceptual album "Nojeva varka" and a permanent concert lineup’, Marčelo said before the concert.
During the performance in the pleasant atmosphere of the Botanical Garden, which lasted less than two hours, the versatile Marčelo, in addition to his songs and hits, treated the audience to a reading of his poetry, what was received with cheers.
Marčelo appeared on the hip-hop scene at the end of the nineties and very quickly left the genre framework and enriched his artistic expression, while socially engaged art is the defining feature of his work.
On Friday, 21 July, the band Kanda, Kodža i Nebojša will perform as part of the Garden Sessions.
