Soprano Irina Iordachescu was born in Bucharest, in a family of musicians. Her father is the Romanian baritone, Dan Iordachescu.
She is a laureate of international singing competitions such as G. B. Viotti – (Italia) – Prize Cesare Bardelli; Sylvia Geszty (Spain) – Third Prize; Maria Callas (Greece) – Third Prize; Vincenzo Bellini (Italia) – Second Prize; IVC s’Hertogenbosch (Holland) – Third Prize & Prize of the Public, Alfredo Giacomotti (Italia) – Second Prize.
Her repertoire includes main roles like Lucia – Lucia di Lammermoor by G. Donizetti, Gilda – Rigoletto by G. Verdi, Norina – Don Pasquale by G. Donizetti, Adina – L'elisir d'amore by G. Donizetti, Fiordiligi – Cosi fan tutte, Pamina – Die Zauberflote, Susanna – Le nozze di Figaro by W. A. Mozart, Musetta – La Boheme by G. Puccini, Valencienne – Die Lustige Witwe by F. Lehar, Liu – Turandot by G. Puccini, Violetta Valery – La Traviata by G. Verdi, Mimi – La Boheme by G. Puccini, Micaela – Carmen by G. Bizet and 27 Vocal-Symphonic works.

I. Outside Romania, she had the opportunity to sing with famous conductors like Riccardo Muti, Sir Neville Marriner, Roberto Abbado, Paul Nadler, Julian Kovatchef, Marco Boemi, Mihail Tatarnikov, Cyril Diederich, Kirill Karabits, Ivan Anguélov, with great stage directors like Ermanno Olmi, Cristina Muti, Renzo Giacchieri, Plamen Kartaloff etc.
